Board Specifications

The Surface and Backing Papers

All finishes:

  • Made from chemically treated pulp using high pH sizing and essentially lignin free, except for suedette which uses high light fast rayon’s
  • Buffered with calcium carbonate
  • The water soluble extracts are minimal i.e. chloride below 0.05%, sulphate below 0.25%. For extra defence it contains a buffer of calcium carbonate to guard against contamination by air borne acid for the life of the board

The Core:

(black, coloured and standard)

  • Neutral
  • Highly refined wood pulp, sized with an alkaline (neutral) material
  • Buffered with calcium carbonate

(white and suedette)

  • Made from essentially lignin free bleached white fibre
  • Buffered with calcium carbonate

The Adhesive

All Finishes

  • Aqueous PVA with neutral pH.
  • Buffered with calcium carbonate
